The term "Oegishjálmr" (or Oegirshelm) can be literally translated as the "Helm of Terror."
This helm serves as a form of camouflage or disguise technique (mimicry), allowing the wearer to conceal their true appearance and instead assume a frightening exterior. Hence, it is also referred to as the Helm of Terror.
